Building with customers, not against them

We build software that enables the industry, not compete with it.

Accounting software today is frenemies with the industry - with Quickbooks and Netsuite competing, or partnering and then competing.  Companies should be able to use the best software on the market, not medicore solutions that happen to be bundled. We think the industry is long overdue for a “Switzerland” of accounting, that makes our partners (like Stripe, Ramp, Brex, Gusto, Rippling, Deel, Mercury, BILL, Meow, etc) advance their vision with a partner that builds to them, not against them.

Accountants who adopt modern technology should be, and will be, rewarded.

We believe that one of the most important relationships is between a founder and their accountants.  Accountants are the backbone of businesses everywhere, and we empower them with the best tools and technology to deliver accurate books, at a fraction of the time, and spend more time evaluating and improving the financial health of your company.  Not all accountants love or prefer automation, and we do our best to make Puzzle transparent, configurable, and controllable by whoever is managing the books, from founders on day one, to outsourced accounting firms, to in-house accountants.  But there is a growing contingent of accountants who no longer want to “check the box” and prefer a seat at the table.  We are building for them.

Puzzle is software, not services

Puzzle has not and does not offer services, allowing us to focus exclusively on creating the most accurate and automated accounting software on the market. While the role of accountants has evolved and will continue to do so, we remain committed to our mandate: building the best software and seeking feedback from leading accounting and tax service firms to ensure we deliver what they need.

We love feedback.  Even when it stings.

The more popular we get, the more feedback we’ll get. From feature requests to features you love to features you hate to bugs, are all signs people care enough to take valuable time from their day to let us know how we can improve.  It’s the primary source of our product roadmap and feedback, even when it stings, is an opportunity for us to make our software better for our users.
